I'm just so excited I'm tickled pink! I finally got the basic supplies for heat embossing! I tried it all out and it made me even more anxious to get back and make cards! But alas, I can't stamp for over 2 more weeks:( Still, definitely something to anticipate:)

Patriotic Pride!

I love my country, and really caught on to this challenge. It's from Stampin' Royalty (http://www.stampinroyalty.blogspot.com/), and the challenge is to express your patriotic pride in a card, project, or scrapbook page. I decided to make a card for my parents, so here it is (they can't see it until Independence Day):

This was a very fun card because it has so many aspects! Besides trying techniques with the stamps (like the skewed lettering), embossing one of the stripes, and making the stripes different lengths, I also curled the ends kind of like ribbons.

I used the masking technique I learned from Lee Conrey's blog (http://www.stampingleeyours.blogspot.com/) on the blue square. I stamped hearts, but it wasn't finished until I had scattered pearls and rhinestones across it. I also used a little scrap of white twine left over from Julie's stamping class yesterday :P

Hope you have a wonderful Independence Day, and don't forget all our country has endured to be free. God bless you, and God bless America!
