Patriotic Pride!

I love my country, and really caught on to this challenge. It's from Stampin' Royalty (http://www.stampinroyalty.blogspot.com/), and the challenge is to express your patriotic pride in a card, project, or scrapbook page. I decided to make a card for my parents, so here it is (they can't see it until Independence Day):

This was a very fun card because it has so many aspects! Besides trying techniques with the stamps (like the skewed lettering), embossing one of the stripes, and making the stripes different lengths, I also curled the ends kind of like ribbons.

I used the masking technique I learned from Lee Conrey's blog (http://www.stampingleeyours.blogspot.com/) on the blue square. I stamped hearts, but it wasn't finished until I had scattered pearls and rhinestones across it. I also used a little scrap of white twine left over from Julie's stamping class yesterday :P

Hope you have a wonderful Independence Day, and don't forget all our country has endured to be free. God bless you, and God bless America!

  1. Super cute card, Victoria! The flag itself is cute, but the details on each of the stripes adds so much! Love it!
